The DynamicOrgan® 2-Channel Kit includes all the consumables required to build organ models that replicate epithelial and endothelial interfaces between tissue compartments of in vitro lung, liver, or gut models. These models can be combined with vasculature or set up as vasculature-only models.

The biochip – the heart of the organ model

The 2-Channel Kit includes our BC002, a biochip containing one porous membrane separating the culture chamber into a top and bottom channel accessible via ports.

Cell suspensions, coatings and gels can be introduced individually into each channel enabling the creation of cell layers and complex tissues on both sides of the membrane.

The separation of the channels allows to nourish the cells and tissues with individual media and with individual flow rates per channel (or no flow at all).

Additionally, circulating cell populations can be introduced. Matching reservoirs facilitate perfusion and ensure nutritional supply up to three days without medium exchange.

Working with primary, sensitive or stem cells – or with time-critical samples?

The 2-Channel Kit is now also available with sterile biochips pre-coated with Collagen I. Designed to reduce preparation time and manual handling, these ready-to-use biochips help you move faster from setup to cell seeding without sterilizing or coating the biochip yourself. This makes them especially useful for primary cells, stem cells and sensitive cells where consistency, sterility, and a reliable experiment start are essential.

Why Collagen I

Specifically sensitive, primary cells require a coating that provides biological cues that replicate the natural environment of the body to adhere and grow properly. Collagen I contains binding sites that interact with integrin receptors on the cell membrane, thereby maintaining tissue-specific functions in culture by promoting intracellular signaling.

All kits are available with different membrane pore sizes (0.4, 3, 5, or 8 µm) and microscope cover glass at the bottom. The 2-Channel Kit – S is also available with sterile 2-Channel biochips pre-coated with Collagen I rat tail.

What do I need to get started?

In addition to the kit, you will require a peristaltic pump. If you don’t have one, you can order a DynamicOrgan® System and will receive a peristaltic pump in addition to your kit of choice.

Additional material for advanced applications

All kits are intended for one-channel perfusion with small reservoirs. Below you can find a selection of extension kits if double perfusion (such as for intestinal models) or large reservoirs are required.
