Press Release | New e-learning platform for learning Organ-on-chip technology as a replacement for animal testing
Dynamic42 Online Academy for biomedical research
Jena, 14.11.2024 – The life science company Dynamic42 has expanded its range with the Online Academy. This e-learning platform now offers a way for scientists to learn organ-on-chip (OoC) technology easily and from anywhere and to establish it in the laboratory. The clear instructional videos range from an introduction to the technology to the construction of a perfused or static organ model. The e-learning platform was developed on the basis of the already successfully established Dynamic42 Academy on site. 92 percent of the graduates of this Academy can imagine using the method in their laboratory after completing the course. This workshop is therefore perfect for anyone who wants to establish organ models in their research.
“After our in-house academy was so well received, we now want to give customers from outside the company the opportunity to learn organ-on-chip technology. Our new Online Academy offers a great opportunity to immediately implement the skills learned in your own laboratory,” says Anne-Katrin Bothe, Head of the Dynamic42 Academy.
OoC models simulate processes that take place in the human body. The technology can therefore help to avoid or reduce animal testing in line with the 3R principle. OoC models from Dynamic42 also depict highly complex interactions in the body by including all cell types involved in the process under investigation.
Each course visually guides participants through the experimental procedure with clear and detailed videos. The training videos introduce the OoC technology, including biochip preparation and the construction of an organ model. In addition, participants receive all the protocols for carrying out the experiments in the laboratory and a certificate for successful completion of the course rounds off the Online Academy.
The already established Dynamic42 Academy is a great success, with 100 percent of participants recommending the workshop to colleagues. Benjamin Becker, PhD student at the Friedrich-Löffler-Institute in Jena, says: “It was a completely new insight into the wonders of modern cell culture. Definitely a must if you want to use organ-on-chip in your lab.”
The Online Academy complements the Organ-on-Chip training program and now gives even more scientists, regardless of where they live, the opportunity to learn a method that contributes significantly to the understanding and treatability of various diseases.
